Humidi-Cure® 49%: keep your case at the humidity your guitar was built in
Taylor Guitars builds its guitars at 47% RH and recommends 45 to 55% at home. Your house doesn't hold that. The heat comes on in winter and the air dries out. Summer turns it damp. Wood follows slowly, so you rarely see it coming. Too dry, and the fret ends turn sharp and the top sinks. Too damp, and the action climbs and the tone goes dull.
Humidi-Cure® is a two-way humidity pack. It gives moisture back when the case is too dry and takes it in when the case is too damp, holding 49% RH within ±2%. No refilling. No sponge. No gel.
Why players switch to it
- Two-way, not one-way. A sponge humidifier only adds water. This pack also pulls it out when the case gets humid.
- Liquid-less. The water is held inside U.S. patented plant fiber, not in a liquid or gel.
- Set and forget. Drop it in, close the lid, check the card now and then.
- Honest lifespan. About 3 months in a closed hard case. Weeks, not months, in a loose gig bag you open every day.

Which option? The single pack ($8.99) lets you try it in one case. The 4-pack ($25.99, $6.50 a pack) covers one guitar case for about a year, or four cases for one season.
How to use it
- Open the overwrap only when you're ready to use the pack.
- Place the pack inside the case or cabinet and close the lid tightly.
- Give it about 24 hours to settle the case.
- Replace it when the pack feels stiff, or when the card reads 40% or lower (or 60% or higher) for more than a day.
Is it still working? Squeeze it. Soft means it's working. Stiff or hard means it's spent. The indicator card should read close to 50% once the case has settled.
Don't take our word for it
Run the case test. Put a Humidi-Cure® pack in one case and your current humidifier in another. Leave a hygrometer in each and read both at the same time every day for a week. Keep whichever holds closer to 49%.
Questions players ask
Can it leak onto my finish?
There's no liquid or gel in the pouch to seep out. The water is held inside plant fiber.
How long does one pack last?
About 3 months in a hard case you keep closed. In a gig bag you open every day, plan on weeks. How airtight the case is matters more than anything else.
I live somewhere humid. Will it make things worse?
No. It works both ways. When the case climbs above 49%, the fiber absorbs the extra moisture.
Can I use it with my soundhole humidifier?
Use one system per case. Two humidifiers in the same case end up working against each other.
How long can I keep unopened packs?
Sealed packs are good for 12 months from the manufacturing date. Open each one when you're ready to put it in a case.
