Frequently Asked Questions
2-Way Humidity Control
What is ruksak™ and what makes it different?
ruksak™ is our fiber-integrated storage bag. Unlike others, which rely on multi-layer passive films, ruksak™ actively regulates the humidity inside the bag using our proprietary bamboo fiber liner—built directly into the packaging. There’s no need for a separate humidity pack. It maintains a stable 62% RH for up to 12 months when sealed, and the entire bag is fully compostable and child-resistant. ruksak™ is active protection with zero hassle.
I use jars. What’s your solution for that?
For jar storage, we suggest HumidiShield™—a friction-fit or heat-sealed fiber liner that snaps into the jar lid. There’s no direct contact with the flower, which minimizes static, slows degradation, and helps preserve terpenes. These liners are also compostable, and like our other products, you can customize the RH level and fit to your jar size.
Can I customize the RH level or product size?
Yes, everything we make is customizable. We can tailor the RH level anywhere between 30% and 90%, modify the shape and size to match your packaging, and even adjust the absorption or release speed based on your storage environment and turnover rate. We adapt to your product—not the other way around.
Do you support wholesale or bulk use cases?
We do. For clients storing in 5 or 10 pound quantities, we typically recommend using your own packaging and placing our 320g Humidi-Cure™ packs inside. Each 320g unit covers up to 5 pounds of cannabis. For larger operations, we also offer fiber mats - Humidi-Cure Plus for bins and barrels that deliver the same humidity control performance at scale.
What happens if I already have dry flower — can your product rehydrate it?
Yes, our humidity control products can help gently rehydrate dry cannabis, but with some important context. Our technology works through water activity equilibrium. That means moisture moves naturally from the fiber material into the air inside the container — and from there, into the flower — until balance is reached. If your flower is slightly overdried (e.g. 7–8% moisture content), placing it in an airtight container with a 62% RH Humidi-Cure™ pack or inside our ruksak™ will slowly raise the ambient humidity, allowing the flower to reabsorb moisture evenly over 24–72 hours. What we don’t do is force moisture in. There are no sprays, liquids, or artificial agents. So if the flower is too far gone — for example, under 5% moisture content or already brittle — we can improve aroma and pliability.
What humidity control products do you offer specifically for cigars?
We offer a complete suite of solutions designed to maintain the ideal 73% RH for cigar storage. First, our Humidi-Cure™ 73% 2-way packets are crafted from plant-based fiber, designed to maintain perfect balance inside humidors and cigar boxes without salt, gel, or leakage. Second, our ruksak™ 73% humidity control bag is a first-of-its-kind solution that combines storage and humidity regulation in one compostable, ready-to-use format. No inserts. No maintenance. Just seal and store. And third, for the traveler or gift-giver, the HumidiShield™ cigar tube protects individual cigars with built-in humidity control — sleek, portable, and engineered to preserve freshness wherever you go.
What do you recommend for musicians and collectors?
We created the Humidi-Cure™ 49% 2-way humidity control packet specifically for wooden instruments. Designed for use inside hard or soft cases, it keeps the environment balanced at 49% RH, right in the sweet spot for most string and wood instruments. It’s made from bamboo and wood pulp — fully compostable, clean, and non-corrosive. Unlike gel-based systems or water trays, there’s no leakage, no refilling, and no guessing. It simply works — silently, reliably, and with respect for your instrument.
Will it work inside my instrument case?
Absolutely. Whether you're storing a guitar, violin, or ukulele, placing a 49% RH Humidi-Cure™ pack inside the case helps maintain stability and protects against cracks or tuning instability. There's no liquid, so there’s no mess — just clean, consistent humidity regulation.
Frequently Asked Questions
Desiccant
What is ATMOSIScience Fiber Desiccant?
ATMOSIScience Fiber Desiccant is a next-generation moisture control solution made from 100% biodegradable bamboo and wood fibers. Unlike traditional silica gel or calcium chloride desiccants, which rely on passive single-direction absorption, our fiber desiccant is engineered to absorb moisture faster, safer, and more sustainably.
What product forms are available?
We offer two primary formats: (1) Filmed Fiber Desiccant (Fiber Desimat) – ultra-thin (0.5–1.0 mm), flexible sheets that can be laminated, printed, and cut into any shape. Ideal for compact packaging or built-in use. (2) Bagged Fiber Desiccant – sealed in non-woven or Tyvek pouches from 1g to 1000g. Suitable for cartons, containers, instruments, and industrial packaging.
Can you customize the absorption rate, size, or shape?
Yes. We customize by: RH sensitivity and absorption speed (slow for long-term storage, fast for logistics); Form factors (sheets, bags, patches, inserts); Shapes and sizes to fit bottle caps, garment tags, medical kits, or IC boards.
Is it reusable? How?
Yes. Once saturated, the desiccant becomes soft. To reuse, simply air-dry it in a ventilated space until it returns to its original texture. Most users can expect multiple cycles with less than 20% performance loss, depending on the environment.
Frequently Asked Questions
Other Industries
What does ATMOSIScience offer for museums?
We provide a hybrid system that combines passive humidity control materials with intelligent energy-saving management. Our fiber humectants are placed discreetly in display cases and storage boxes, maintaining humidity within ±3% of the target range. For larger rooms, our Humigic™ mineral boards stabilize the environment by absorbing and releasing moisture naturally, reducing HVAC use by up to 80%. All systems are monitored in real time through cloud-connected smart terminals, giving curators full control with minimal manual effort. This setup has already protected artifacts in major institutions like the Shanghai Museum and The Palace Museum.
What is your anti-condensation solution?
ATMOSIScience developed a compact, stick-on fiber pack that actively regulates moisture in sealed electronic environments. Unlike traditional one-way desiccants, our packs absorb and release moisture to maintain a stable internal RH, preventing condensation before it happens. They’ve been tested across more than 1,000 temperature cycles and extreme conditions, including -55°C to 125°C. With over ten years of functional lifespan, they provide silent, passive protection even during power outages, and are now used in 5G towers, EV battery modules, and smart surveillance systems.
What solutions do you provide for product packaging?
We design fiber desiccants and fiber humectants that can be custom-shaped and embedded directly into your packaging — as a garment tag, inner liner, jar insert, or food-safe pouch. These materials are 100% compostable, printable, and outperform silica gel up to five times in capacity. Whether you're exporting snacks, protecting pharmaceuticals, or shipping high-end fashion, our humidity control keeps products fresher, cleaner, and brand-aligned. Plus, the carbon footprint is dramatically reduced, making your packaging both functional and environmentally responsible.
How does ATMOSIScience offer a better approach for Warehouses, Laboratories & Climate-Controlled Rooms?
We deliver a system that blends passive materials with smart automation. Humigic™ boards and fiber mats absorb and release moisture to hold RH steady without electricity. These materials work in sync with our cloud-linked smart terminals that monitor and control environmental conditions automatically. Even when power goes out, the materials keep protecting the space. The result is lower energy bills, fewer maintenance issues, and a stable, safe environment for everything from pharmaceutical warehouses to high-precision labs.
